Photocatalyst history

  • 1970

    First explorations

    Photocatalyst technology was first explored at the beginning of the twentieth century. It wasn’t until the 1970’s, when Akira Fujishima and Kenichi Honda made a breakthrough that made photocatalyst technology commercially viable.

  • 1970 - 2000

    Industrial use

    Since then, photocatalysis has been applied to several other industries including environmental pollution removal, water disinfection, and creating self-sanitizing building materials. While its potential benefits remain immense, photocatalysis did not reach mass adoption because the traditional photocatalyst (Titanium Dioxide) only performs under UV light exposure, limiting its application.

    Raze is created

    Over 10 years of R&D, Raze optimized our photocatalyst’s structure so it is practical for mass use. Not only does our photocatalyst activate under visible light, it also forms a durable coating on any surface. Having passed rigorous test from globally recognized third-party testing companies, we are now confident to bring the benefits of photocatalysis right to your homes.
